5 things you should know about Disney’s Moana star Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

3. THE GRAPHICS

This film appears nice, visually. we were shown a scene of Moana’s first encounter with the ocean as alittle lady, impressed by the words of a Fijian navigator (“The Ocean is alive. you need to speak gently to it.”). The water teases and plays with her; each ripple and wave emoting sort of a living creature that’s promptly powerful and shy. It’s extraordinarily a breathtaking and pleasant scene.
Musker and Clements ar primarily hand-illustrators; this can be their first film doing nearly everything via Comp Graphics (CG). “The story’s visual elements similar to the ocean benefited a lot of from CG rather than a two-dimensional technique,” says Musker. “We’re very hoping the audience will see however affluent the CG is within the film.”

4. THE DEMI-GOD;

Moana is accompanied  on her adventures by the demigod Maui Island, voiced by actor Dwayne Johnson, who’s got his own roots growing up in Hawai‘i. Plus, he’s of Samoan descent (and visited McKinley High School!).
But why island? “The stories of Maui Island ar shared throughout the Pacific; everyone seems to possess a version of Maui for his or her islands,” says Clements. Plus, he says, Maui’s a bigger-than-life character, and things like his big fish hook, shapeshifting skills and moving tattoos look nice on screen.
